GNEISS shows a fundamental similarity with granite, since it is made up of the same elements. It is characterized by the parallel nature of the flakes of mica ; shown in visual terms by the lined and ribbon-like appearance of the crystallization, which makes the stone easy to split.

Like granite, this stone is an excellent natural material which is used in paving and wall facing.

There are a very large number of references of both public and private sites on which gneiss has been used. The colours of this top quality stone are : beige, brown, grey, silvery.
